Synopsis

Mikiko, a single mother in her forties, visits her elderly parents in a suburb of Tokyo. Although she tries to convince her aging father to stop driving, he insists he's still capable and won't listen to reason. Then, she finds a pile of literary magazines containing a story by her son, which she didn't know about. She begins to suspect that her son has more secrets when he arrives later, and she catches her mother and him in a whispered conversation. Although Mikiko is trying her best to hold the family together, she has to admit in the end that she can't control everyone else's lives.

ミキコ（46）は離婚し、都内で一人暮らしをしている。連休の帰省中、高齢の父に車の運転を止めさせようとするが、苦戦する。最近就職し、家を出た息子のサトル（22）は、祖母と何かを小声で話している。家族が抱える問題や、隠し事をされているという疎外感から、ミキコは徐々に苛立ちを募らせていく。
