Synopsis

Tsuki is a teenage girl whose overprotective mother still treats her like a baby. Her comfortable existence has left Tsuki with a complete lack of social and survival skills. When her mother meets a man, Tsuki has to grow up quickly but when her mother abandons her, she takes refuge in a womb-like cupboard. Increasingly unable to distinguish reality from nightmare Tsuki’s world starts to fragment with terrifying consequences. This surreal, psychological drama was inspired by Ian McEwan's short story "Conversation with a Cupboard man".

過保護な母の手で極端に社交性を欠いたまま育てられた少女・ツキの在り方は、世間知らずな子供と自立した大人との間で揺れ動く。 そしてしばしば、ツキは紙一重で隔てられた現実と悪夢を見分けようと、一人で小さな箪笥に逃げ込むのであった。心象風景のシュールなドラマを描く本作は、ランユエが監督・脚本を担当しており、イアン・マッキューアンによる短編小説の翻案である。
